Ghana is a remarkable nation; however it is still a developing nation. As such, Ghana and many Ghanaians require international assistance.
Nevertheless, it is often said that actions speak louder then words. Likewise, iTravelGhana has come to understand that actions often assist and contribute more then money. For this reason, iTravelGhana offers Volunteer Vacations in collaboration with local NGO’s and NPO’s.

The main objective of these Volunteer Vacations is to simply experience Ghana while giving back to the less fortunate Ghanaians. Unlike our travel Tours, the Volunteer Vacations are less structured. We have a diverse network of local NGO’s, Schools, Orphanages and Governmental associations that are willing to accept volunteers. So as opposed to giving you a structure we ask for you to email us at volu.vaca@itravelghana.com explaining what you would like to accomplish, the duration that you would like to stay and the number of people that will be volunteering with you. With this information, we will connect you with the appropriate people and we will provide a personally structured volunteer vacation for you and, or your group. Listed below are examples of volunteer vacations that previous groups embarked on:

1. Teach Conversational English to the Youth: The English language (both verbal and written) is a major requirement of all professions. Moreover, it has come to be considered the international language of commerce, technology and therefore the international language of opportunity. In many developing nations, speaking English proficiently provides an exit out of poverty via meaningful employment. For this reason, simply taking as little as a week out of your life to come down to Accra – Ghana to improve the English of underprivileged youth and young adults will make an immeasurable difference in their lives.   
2. Paint, Build & Repair Buildings: Some schools, community centers and hospitals of Ghana have become almost dilapidated as a result of mismanagement and neglect. 3. Teaching Sports
   are you energetic, fun loving person that is enthusiastic to work with the young. If so, coaching and training youth might be the perfect volunteer vacation for you. There is no need to discuss the obvious physical benefits of physical education, however the importance of this program is to give the children mental discipline, attentiveness, self-confidence and the ability to work as a team.

Why volunteer through iTravelGhana?

Every volunteer has a different set of motivations and expectations from their volunteer placement. For this reason, we collaborate with local organizations that prepare customized volunteering placements for each specific volunteer. For example, some volunteers may be interested in contributing a large amount of hours every day at their placement while others may only want to devote a few hours a week. iTravelGhana is prepared to work with you to ensure your volunteer experience is what you want, not simply what you are given.

2) QUALITY
iTravelGhana sacrifice high fees, but we never sacrifice high quality. Unlike other organizations we refuse to send you to an unsafe or low quality placement. All our placements are personally inspected by iTravelGhana representatives.
You may have notices that iTravelGhana has only 3 preset volunteer vacations. This is because we strive to offer low cost, high quality, and safe Volunteer placements. If you have taken the time to check the prices of other African volunteering sites you will understand that this is not easy to come by. Furthermore, iTravelGhana is in the process of collaborating with new organizations to offer a larger variety of placements. Nevertheless we still refuse to sacrifice safety or quality in order to increase our volunteer placement options.

3) SUPPORT
From the moment you pay your registration fee to iTravelGhana you will receive 24 hour/ 7 day a week support until you complete your placement.  

Note: As mentioned previously volunteer vacation participants are charged a subsidized rate starting at $50 a day which includes hotel accommodation, some meals, daily transportation, airport pick-up and airport drop-off. Due to the limitless nature of our volunteer vacations we ask you to email us at volu.vaca@itravelghana.com expressing the type of volunteer vacation you wish to embark on and the amount of time you plan to volunteer in addition to the number of people who will volunteer with you. With this information we will prepare a customize volunteer vacation for you with a more specific price. Lastly, keep in mind that while in Ghana you always have the opportunity to participate on some tours provided that time and space permits.
